Brand new and sealed. Charles Bukowski Reads His Poetry LP (Clear with Black Swirl Vinyl

Reads His Poetry is a spoken‑word album by acclaimed American writer and poet Charles Bukowski, capturing a live poetry reading he gave on September 14, 1972 at the City Lights Poets Theater in San Francisco. Originally released on vinyl in 1980 by Takoma Records, the recording showcases Bukowski’s gritty, candid voice and unfiltered persona as he performs a selection of his poems directly to an audience, complete with the spontaneous asides and rough‑around‑the‑edges humor that became hallmarks of his readings. Rather than traditional musical accompaniment, the album foregrounds Bukowski’s distinct delivery and raw perspective on themes like love, death, poverty, addiction, and the absurdities of everyday life, making it a compelling document for fans of his work and for listeners interested in the visceral energy of live poetry performance.
