Vintage Granny Takes A Trip Yellow Velvet Sequined Suit from the 70s. This suit was owned By Keith West (Lead singer of The Brats). During summer trips to London in the late 60s/early 70s, West had this suit custom made for him by the tailors at Granny Takes A Trip. West wore this suit during his time as the vocalist for the New York glam band, The Brats.
Granny Takes A Trip was a London based boutique founded in February 1966 on King’s Road, Chelsea, by Nigel Waymouth, Sheila Cohen and John Pearse. Initially they sold antique and Victorian-style clothing, then evolved into bold creations mixing Savile Row tailoring with vivid fabrics and psychedelic influences.
Under the later direction of Freddie Hornik (who took over in 1969) the brand became synonymous with glam-rock, serving high-profile musical clients such as Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and The Beatles.
Unisex. No size tag, fits a small. Excellent vintage condition, this suit was cleaned and restored by Loretta Harper. The suit still does some staining on the inside lining, left leg and on the left sleeve as well as one small blemish on the right sleeve (see photos for all details) This is an incredibly rare and unique piece of not just fashion history, but rock n roll history. You'll never see another exactly like this again!

3. Measure from the back collar to the bottom hem. This is your length measurement.

- Hand wash cold using a mild detergent. (Cold water wash)You could use the delicate cycle on a washing machine but we don’t recommend it.
- Hang dry
You should use this care when washing all vintage pieces. Or dry clean as necessary.

INTERNATIONAL
- First Class International is the least expensive shipping method and generally takes 10-21 days, but does not include tracking or insurance. We are able to track the package only up until it leaves the USA.
- Priority Mail International is the most secure shipping method and usually takes 1-2 weeks to arrive. It includes basic tracking, delivery confirmation, and insurance. We suggest that you choose this shipping method with orders over $100.
- Priority Express International usually arrives within 5-7 days after processing and comes with tracking, confirmation, and insurance (depending on your country’s customs department, this method may take longer than 5-7 days). Email us BEFORE placing your order if you would like to upgrade and we will determine if we are able to accommodate you.
- DHL is the quickest and safest in our opinion

Because of the nature of selling vintage online, we spend hours photographing the pieces to accurately represent the way they are in real life.
